Safran USA and Albany Engineered Composites jointly invested $100 Million in a new co-located aircraft component manufacturing facility in Rochester’s Granite State Business Park. To accommodate this development, the City needed to double the Park’s size and provide bridge access.
Big R proud to play a supporting role
Dubbed the “bridge to prosperity” by local officials, the new connector had to keep pace with the plant’s opening and hundreds of new jobs coming to the City. Our Vist-A-Walls engineering team and Phoenix Precast provided over 8,000 square feet of Precast Panel Wall, and were proud to play a supporting role in this exciting, but fast-paced, project.
Spread footing method provides efficiencies
Good collaboration and communication between the consultant, our Vist-A-Walls design and production teams and the contractor helped to fast-track the installation. The bridge is supported by a spread footing on top of our MSE abutments, avoiding the cost and time of a pile-supported structure.
Save time and money on your next wall project
Vist-A-Wall MSE Structural Walls from Big R Bridge are historically-proven, cost-effective systems that have minimal equipment and labor requirements and are easy to install. They adapt well to curves, angles, steps, and can reach heights of over 100′. These permanent walls are available with a variety of Precast Panel finishes, or can be built with a cobblestone Wire Wall face.
