Precast Panel Walls (Stabilized Earth Walls)
Precast Panel Walls (also known as stabilized earth walls, mechanically stabilized earth walls, MSE retaining walls, or reinforced earth walls) use precast panels with galvanized steel wire mats to reinforce a retained soil mass. This technically-sound and well-proven system is composed of alternating layers of soil reinforcement and select backfill to create an extremely stable reinforced structure that is easily adaptable to meet the structural and aesthetic demands of today’s infrastructure projects. Panels are available in a variety of sizes, colors and textures, as well as custom design. With Big R Bridge's project-specific, engineered approach, the fascia panels are prefabricated to insure quick delivery and easy attachment.
| Features | Benefits |
|---|---|
| Easy and quick to erect | Ease construction schedule pressures |
| Variety of Finishes/Logos | Can be used in rural, industrial or urban settings Safisfy architectural or functional needs |
| Various Shapes & Sizes of Panels | Easily adaptable to curves, angles, steps Can cast standard panels ahead of project approvals |
| Increased Durability | Can be designed to 75 or 100 years Can be designed for high dead load and/or high surcharge loading |
| Vertical joint alignment | Can accommodate differential settlement without damaging panels |
| Impact Resistant | Used for mining applications where possibility of impact to wall is a concern |
| Prefabricated Components | Faster Installation Components just have to be assembled on-site |
| Plant Manufactured | Minimized on-site quality control |
| Vertical construction vs. Batter | Our walls do not require a batter and can be constructed vertically which means corners and curves are easier to build in the field. |
