Vist-A-Wall Abutments and Big R Bridge used in Denver interchange

April 16, 2013

DSCN0099(web3)A recent direct ramp project from US 85 to C470 south of Denver used special Vist-A-Wall full-height precast panels and a Big R Pedestrian Bridge.

Full-height panels chosen for aesthetics
The full-height precast panels for the 48,000 SF of abutment and ramp walls were chosen mainly for aesthetic reasons, as they give the look of a solid wall with all the advantages of our flexible Vist-A-Wall MSE Structural Wall System.

The contractor opted to purchase the precast panels directly from a precaster that we had not worked with before, so extra coordination was required. We conducted plant visits and maintained close communication between our engineers and theirs so that schedules and budgets were met. We’ve since worked on other projects with the same contractor.
